Mobile Moment: How Businesses Should Consider Their First Steps in the Mobile Space
We learned a few lessons from the last mobile moment: 1: get a better camera, 2: make sure our faces don’t disappear, 3: don’t have the background be a bunch of empty shelves (personally I thought it was entertaining.) Hopefully you find the quality of this version a little better.
This weeks Mobile Moment focused on how businesses should consider their first steps into the mobile space. The biggest point we always make is to not put an entire website or feature set into a mobile app. A company should realize the user experience is much different on a mobile device than on a desktop computer; user’s are typically on the move, in a hurry and don’t need every bell and whistle. Keep a focus and listen to your users and you will do great.
Some of the other highlights of our talk include:
- Don’t throw your entire website in an app
- Listen to your users, they will tell you what they want
- Make sure to keep a long term outlook
Hope you enjoy this weeks Mobile Moment. Let us know what you want us to talk about via @VOKALmobile
Enjoy!

Great video guys. Out of curiosity, what camera did you use? We’ve been looking at making more videos like this as well.

Thanks, Jeff! We used the Flip. We recently switched to the iPhone 4S though.
